MILITARIZATION OF OBJECTS
(working title)

Concept:
The world on arbitrary surface.

First the world is perceived through imagination and represented as a naïve painting or actual reality where there is no intention or function.
On a second surface the world is perceived and known as a strategically and tactical object.
Here, everything has a special meaning, and is represented as military map signs.
I do not want to dwell about the question of “how is the world in reality?” but rather on “how we would have liked the world to be; what is mankind's new utopia?”
Can we risk annihilating the second surface of the world perception?
But that means displacing the military spirit into the world of art, since that spirit is not only the creator of wars but also of the human civilisation and culture.

Description and execution:
On cardboards are painted and applied in mix media in a way to hide the different world's landscape photos.
Then, some collages on the surface at 3-cm distance are fixed transparent Plexiglas.
The size of the collages is 60cm X 80cm.
A bunker type of an exhibition space is chosen. In the middle of the space is placed a table with a military map where it seams that a general staff plan has been discussed.
The performer enters and in front of everyone starts to draw military signs on the collages and Plexiglas with red and blue markers that correspond to its military interpretation.
In this way the collage has two surfaces: artistic marks and military marks.
In this way the first part of the performance ends that is called:
“Discovering of the objects according to the general staff plan.”
Then starts the camouflage of the military action, during which everything on the way gets hidden by this military cover. That is done in a way as not to loose the functional meaning of the space, object or material.
The camouflage is represented on a military net.
The performer then paints that same camouflage motives on him and on everything around.
